The awards night for
the Tom Danielson Junior Cycling Cup was October 19, 2007. The event was held
at Wheat Ridge Cyclery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Visit
the Wheat Ridge Cyclery web site.
An enormous crowd of over 275 people came out to support
junior cycling and to meet Tom. Each medallist was presented custom made medals
with Tom's image embossed on one side and their name and category printed on
the other side. The top points leaders from each category received trophies and
an official TDJCC jersey as well.
Tom started things off by thanking and welcoming the
juniors and their parents. He gave an enlightening talk about his rise from a
junior in Connecticut to racing at the highest level in Europe. Tom stressed
the importance of education and encouraged all the kids to work hard in school
and believe in themselves.
The series was a huge success in only its first
