By Larry Goldstein, Durango Fall Blaze Director
The 2nd Annual Durango Fall Blaze was held on September
29th.
On Saturday the weather held nicely for the 425 riders
on-course; their were no reported injuries, and no one got lost.
The Fort Lewis
College Cycling Team did an incredible job of Venue Construction, 100 mile Sag
Support in Morehart Subaru's, and they worked the Notorious #5 Aid/Food Station
at the 88 mile mark.
The Post-Ride Celebration included our Remarkable Chili
and Potato Bar, Coca Cola brand Beverages, Steamworks Handcrafted Draught Beer,
Music, and Tommy & Kristin Danielson. Over 60 Volunteers made this event
possible.
We cleared (Net Income) over $20,000 for the Event, directly
deposited into the Tom Danielson Scholarship Fund at Fort Lewis College. Every
penny of Sponsorship money goes into this account untouched, and goes directly
to Scholarships. "...we're sending cyclists to college". Take a look
at www.DurangoFallBlaze.com and see why the Durango Fall Blaze is a first class
event. Stay tuned for next September and thanks to everyone who made it possible!
