"Come on! Push it, Push it!" encouraged
Tom as he led an intense spin class at Bicycle
Village in Denver Thursday
night. The group followed Tom's stage 17 win at this year's Vuelta as a
video of the stage played on a big screen in front of the class. Each moment
of the stage was
matched by the group in the class as Tom motivated everyone to go harder. It
was a great format and nobody got dropped! Tom may have a budding career
after he hangs up the
bike!
The guys from Suunto provided
heart rate monitors for each person and projected everyone's heart rate
onto a screen for all to see. It was very
cool and really motivating. It showed how hard you were working compared
to your maximum heart rate by displaying your name in green (LT), red (above
LT) or gray (below LT). What was very telling was the ease at which Tom's
heart rate spiked up high and yet he could still speak into the mic with
ease. Then when he eased off, his heart rate quickly plummeted.
After the pain and suffering, everyone cleaned up and Tom took questions
from the crowd and then raffled off several items before signing autographs.
It was a great event, and the guys at Bicycle Village are top notch. Go
there.
